Dengue prevention and cleanliness campaign

Gazipur: To safeguard public health and protect the residents of Ward 23 from the severe threat of Dengue during the monsoon and post-monsoon seasons, front-runner councillor candidate Raihan Ahmed Shahin (Dorji) has launched a comprehensive, month-long cleanliness and mosquito eradication drive. The campaign kicked off yesterday morning with the mass distribution of awareness leaflets, spraying of bleaching powder, and extensive fogging to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds across major streets and waterlogged alleys.
Raihan Ahmed Shahin Dorji actively participated on the ground alongside a dedicated team of volunteers, clearing clogged drains, removing garbage piles, and engaging directly with residents to educate them on dengue prevention.
During the drive, Shahin Dorji shared his thoughts with journalists, stating, "Elections and titles come and go, but saving lives and ensuring a healthy living environment is our ultimate responsibility. Every year, many families lose loved ones to Dengue, mostly due to a lack of awareness and stagnant water. Funded by my personal resources and driven by our energetic youth volunteers, we have vowed to keep every corner of Ward 23 clean and safe."
Local residents and businessmen highly commended this timely and crucial intervention. Citizens expressed that Shahin Dorji’s proactive approach in cleaning drains and spraying insecticides without waiting for municipal aid reflects the true qualities of a dedicated public servant.
